Hey everyone, and welcome to my wee corner of the bookish community. I’m Michaela a 24 year old bookworm from Scotland who is currently living in the USA as an Au Pair. I started this blog as I wanted a place where I could express my love for books and to interact with others who also love books as much as I do as I don’t have a lot of people I can do that with in my real life.
I’ve been an avid reader since I was really young and books are my favourite type of escapism. I love rainy days where I can curl up with a book and lots of blankets and if it’s a thunderstorm then I’ve hit the jackpot.
My favourite genre is fantasy, in particular grimdark fantasy. I can also be found reading historical fiction, classics and the occasional contemporary and poetry collection. I have recently also been getting into romance books a genre I previously would have avoided like the plague.
Some of my favourite books are The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid, Godblind by Anna Stephens, The Infernal devices by Cassandra Clare, Under the Whispering Door by T. J. Klune, Summer of Salt by Katrina Leno and Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte.
I go by the pronouns she/her, I’m bi, an Aquarius and INFJ.
When I’m not reading I can usually be found taking walks in nature, listening to music(I never grew out of my emo stage), rewatching my comfort shows and my dream in life is to travel to as many places as possible and explore as much of the world as I can.
