Hi everyone, I hope you are all having an amazing day and are staying safe. I’m glad that it’s finally Friday and I’m hoping to get some time to reset and relax as I spent last weekend and the beginning of the week in Ohio visiting family. Which was great but also exhausting.
Let’s Talk Bookish is a bookish meme created by Rukky at Eternity Books and Dani at Literary Lion and is now being hosted by Aria over at Book Nook Bits. Each month they come up with a list of topics for us all to discuss and share our opinions on as well as spreading the love by reading each others posts.
Reading seasonally (Mikaela @ Mikaela Reads)
Prompts: Do you read seasonally? Do you like a beach read in summer, a spooky book in the autumn and holiday themed ones in winter? What’s your favorite season? Do you have any favorite seasonal reads?
So as you probably already know if you have followed me for any amount of time I’m a massive mood reader so my answer is both yes and no to “do you read seasonally” I definitely find myself now likely to pick up certain books at certain times. For example, this time of year is definitely when I try to pick up the darker and spookier books. In winter I tend to find myself gravitating for more high fantasy or historical fiction books. Whereas in spring and summer I find myself wanting more lighthearted or romance type books. However, it doesn’t always go this way and I might end up picking up a spooky book in spring or a romance in winter.
My favourite season by far is autumn for a multitude of reasons. I love how pretty it is, I love being able to get out my jumpers and wrap myself up in blankets. I love how cosy it is and above all autumn has Halloween which in my opinion is the best holiday of the year.
Since I’m such a big Halloween fan and adore all things spooky and gothic this is definitely my favourite time of the year for reading and I have a few books that I think are staple reads for the season.

Are you a seasonal reader?? What is your favourite season to read in??
Halloween is the best holiday of the year! I am also a very moody reader but my love for all things scary demands I at least try to pick up some horror reads. At the very least watch a few horror films.

I don’t think I read seasonally as such (mood reader here too!) but I do tend to try and read a couple of spooky books around Halloween 🎃

I feel like it’s hard not to read at least one this time of year

I feel like autumn reading is the most popular seasonal reading time of the year or maybe that’s just me following all the people who are super excited to break out those spooky autumn/halloween reads?! 😂 I’m not much of a seasonal reader myself although I like to pretend to be sometimes, haha. Great post!

Thank you and I agree Autumn definitely seems to be the time of the year that most people set seasonal TBRs
