Hi everyone, I hope you are all having an amazing day and are staying safe. So as some of you know I moved to America to be an au pair a year ago and have just started my second year. During this time I have become a big fan of borrowing books and utilizing my local library. Mostly because I could bring any books with me and I can’t take a whole load of books back home with me. However, having said that over the past year I have accumulated a few books and I thought it would be fun to keep track of them here.

So first off when I arrived here my host family was so lovely and gave me a gift voucher to their local bookstore as they knew how much I love reading. With this I bought myself 3 books: The House in the Cerulean Sea by T. J. Klune, Untamed Shore by Silvia Moreno-Garcia and Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid.

A few months into my stay here I went on a solo trip to the town of Sleep Hollow and of course I couldn’t not buy a copy of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving.

Next for Christmas and my birthday my host family were lovely enough to get me a couple of books: Call Us What We Carry by Amanda Gorman and Ship of Theseus by J. J. Abrams.

Lastly my host family started a bit of a book club and for this my host mum got both me and her a copy of Piranesi by Susanna Clarke and The Rose Code by Kate Quinn.
What books have you picked up recently??
Great haul! It’s awesome that your host family are just as into books as you are and buy you books (especially for the book club)! I’m looking forward to reading The Rose Code and Piranesi but I’m also very curious about Amanda Gorman’s poems.
