Wrap Ups and Hauls

February Wrap Up

Hi everyone, I hope you are all having an amazing day and staying safe. February was slower and less stressful compared to the last few months which I have definitely needed. I also traveled with my host family for the kids February break and got to take part in some winter activities that I have never experienced before such as sledding and walking on a frozen lake.

Books

I finally caught up on all the books I had started last year and am starting March with a clean slate which honestly feels like a weight off me.

First book I finished was Mythology by Edith Hamilton. This focuses mostly on Greek mythology but has a small section in Norse mythology at the end. I found this really interesting and enjoyed that she tells us which writers and poets these myths were first written by. I gave this 4 out of 5 stars.

Next I finally finished Eye of the World by Robert Jordan. This is the first book in his The Wheel of Time series and while a bit slow at first still enjoyable and a good introduction to the world and characters. I also gave this 4 stars out of 5 stars.

I also finally finished the Time Quintet series by Madeleine L’Engle. Overall, I enjoyed the series some books better than others and I do feel I would have enjoyed it more if I had read them as a kid. I gave this last book 3 stars out of 5 stars.

This next 2 books I read completely this year the first being Queer Body Power: Finding your Body Positivity by Essie Dennis. Essie covers so many important topics in this and I feel that it’s one all LGBTQ+ people especially younger should read and would benefit from. Such a well written piece and I loved that she has so many other’s experiences in here as well. I gave this 4 out of 5 stars.

The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo is one I have been saying I’m going to pick up for ages and can now say that I finally have and I’m so glad I did. I gave this 4 out of 5 stars.

Other

I finally stared watching Legacies this month. Vampire Diaries is one of my favorite TV shows and I also really love the Originals and while this is definitely my least favorite of the three I’m still really enjoying it.

I’m also rewatching Anne with an E, which is just as sweet and wholesome as always and perfect for transitioning into spring.

  1. Wow, I can’t believe you went sledding!! How fun!! That’s something I really want to do one day, but it’ll depend on me coming back to Europe (or the US) in winter. We just don’t get enough snow here.
Thank you for sharing my posts — I’m so glad you liked it. And I hope you have an amazing March 💕

  2. Omg, as someone who lives in the tropics and who kinda misses the days of living in a country with colder weather and snow, all that snow makes me a wee bit jelly 😂 Looks like so much fun! I hope you have a great March!
