Hi everyone, I hope you are all having an amazing day and staying safe. I can’t believe we are at the end of October already and only have 2 months left of 2021. I have had a really fun and busy month getting to know more Au pairs in my area, I went on a weekend trip with my host family and I carved my very first pumpkin. America really does go all out at Halloween and I’m so glad that I got to experience it ad it’s not as big a thing in Scotland which is sad considering we were a Celtic nation and All Hallow’s Eve is originally a Celtic Holiday.
This month my reading hasn’t been too bad and I will be happy if I can at least maintain this for the rest of the year. I managed to read 4 books.
Firstly I read the first three books in the Time Quintet by Madeleine L’Engle. A Wrinkle in Time, A Wind in the Door and A Swiftly Tilting Planet. My oldest host kid loves this series and was kind enough to lend them to me and I’m enjoying the series so far.
Next I picked up Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I had been putting off reading this since it came out because I loved The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo so much and didn’t want to be disappointed but thankfully I wasn’t. While Evelyn Hugo is the superior book in my eyes this was still a really good book and I’m glad I gave it a shot.
Loving season 3 of You this month only halfway through but really intrigued to see where the rest of the series goes. I also rewatched The Haunting of Hill House in the lead up to Halloween and loved it just as much the second time around, a true masterpiece.
