Hi everyone, I hope you are all having an amazing day and are staying. This month for me has been very up and down and my anxiety has been all over the place but apart from that I did manage to read more than I was expecting and mostly stuck to my TBR for the first time this year.
I managed to read 6 books this month and one of them has become my favourite of the year so far and I think it will be hard for any other book to beat this one.
First I reread on of my favourite books The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I loved this even more the second time around if that’s possible and was a great way to start off Pride month.
Next I picked up You Should See Me in A Crown by Leah Johnson. This I enjoyed however not as much as I was hoping to. I don’t know if it was just the fact that i have never been that into the whole prom thing which is a big feature in this book and likely why I wasn’t really drawn into this one. I gave it 3 out of 5 stars.
Then I read The Henna Wars by Adiba Jaigirdar. This was another one that I enjoyed just not as much as I was hoping to. I loved the main character and the premise of the book was really interesting. I gave this 3.5 out of 5 stars.
Next I picked up one of my most anticipated releases of the year and am so happy to say that I was not disappointed. One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston has become my favourite read of the year and it will take a lot for any other book to top it. I plan on writing a full review for this and gave it 5 out of 5 stars.
I also finally finished We Free the Stars by Hafsah Faizal this month and also loved it. While I think I slightly preferred the first book in this duology this was still a brilliant ending to the story and I loved see how she built on the first book. I gave this 4.5 stars.
Lastly I picked up Beyond the Black Door by A.M. Strickland. This is one that I have been meaning to read all year and am so glad that I finally picked it up. This was another really enjoyable read, I loved the main character and the way the story progresses. I gave this 4 out of 5 stars.
This month I have also been obsessed with the new Loki TV Show. Loki has been my favourite Marvel character since I watched Thor way back when I was around 13 and so I was really excited to hear they were releasing a tv show focused on Loki and can happily say that I have not been disappointed.
