Hi everyone, I hope you are all having an amazing day and are staying safe. So I had a whole load of grand plans for this October of reading lots of spooky books and watching horror movies however as usual things did not go to plan mostly because I have been spending so much of my free time working. But at least it gave me the wake up call to see that I definitely need to get a better work life balance.
I did however manage to read 6 books however 2 were really short and another I started in September.

Finding Baba Yaga: A Short Novel in Verse by Jane Yolen. This book didn’t really stand out to me other than the fact that I wasn’t expecting the modern aspect of it. I gave it 2 stars.

Lair of Dreams by Libba Bray. This is definitely my favourite book in The Diviners series so far and I kept it at its original rating of 4 stars.

House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Graig. This was such an atmospheric book and while I didn’t quite live up to expectations I still really enjoyed it and gave it 3 stars.

Glassheart by Kathrine Orton. This was such a magical middle grade book and I gave it 3 stars.

To Drink with a Ghost by Amanda Lovelace. I love Amanda’s poetry and this was no exception, I gave it 3 stars.

The Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow. This was definitely my favourite read of the year, so well written and I can’t believe I don’t read more witch books because I love them. I gave this 4.5 stars.
How did your October go?? What was your favourite read of the month?? Have you read any of the above, what did you think of them??
I still need to finish The Once and Future Witches, I keep hearing great things about it but I feel like I hit a wall with it!

I’m sorry to hear that I really loved it but I can see why it’s not quite for everyone

I’m still hoping to finish it since I did get it as an ARC, but I think for me it’s an ‘eventually read.
