Hi everyone, I hope you have all had an amazing September. This has definitely been my best reading month of the year as not only did I finish two amazing series I also started a few new ones that I’m living for. I’ve also been really enjoying having some time off this month to relax.
Overall, I read 10 books – three of these were poetry collections, one was a graphic novel and the rest were novels.
The first book I read was the graphic novel Mooncakes by Suzanne walker and Wendy Zu. This was by far the cutest book I’ve ever read and so perfect for this time of year. I gave this 5 out of 5 stars. Review to come.
Next I read Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin. This was another perfect read for this time of year and the enemies to lovers relationship in here is the best I’ve ever read. I gave this 4 out of 5 stars. Review to come.
One of my favourite series ended this month and of course I had to pick up the book as soon as it was released and that was Darkdawn by Jay Kristoff. This was the perfect ending to this series and I loved every minute I spent reading it. I gave this 5 out of 5 stars. Review here.
Another series finale that I read this month was Bloodchild by Anna Stephens and all I can say about this book is that this is how you end a series. I gave this 5 out of 5 stars. Review here. Also I should not have read this right after Darkdawn, I still haven’t recovered from the emotional impact of both of these.
The next three books I read were a reread for me and were Reverie, Voyage and Dreamscape by Erin Hanson. These are by far my favourite poetry collections and I relate to these poems so much. I gave each of these 5 out of 5 stars.
I than picked up a historical fiction and this was The Fountains of Silence by Ruta Sepetys. I can’t believe I’ve never picked up a Ruta Sepetys book before as this was so good. I gave this 4 out of 5 stars. Review here.
After this I jumped back into fantasty and picked up The Black Hawks by David Wragg. This was an alright first book in a new series and I gave this out 3 of 5 stars. Review here.
Lastly I picked up The Beautiful by RenΓ©e Ahdieh. Which is definitely one of the books I was most excited to pick up this month. I gave this out 4 of 5 stars. Review to come.
Which books did you pick up this month? Which was your favourite/least favourite? Have you read any of these? What did you think of them?
I am so glad that you loved Serpent & Dove. I am planning on reading it next!
