Which fictional character best displays your values?
Its really difficult to pick just one character that best displays my values so I think I’m going to have to go with both Lazlo Strange and Luna Lovegood.
What is your favourite book you’ve read so far this year, and why?
This is beyond a doubt Darkdawn by Jay Kristoff as it was such an amazing ending to this trilogy and completely broke my heart.
What is your favourite book to movie adaptation?
I think the Harry Potter ones will always be my favourite.
Which fictional character do you think would be the most boring to meet in real life?
Erik Night from the House of Night series by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast. He always bored my in the books so I don’t feel he’d be any different in real life.
What is one thing you do to unwind?
I love colouring in as I find it really relaxing and helps to focus my mind.
If you could pick any author to write a fairytale retelling, who would you pick and which fairytale?
I know we have loads of Beauty and the Beast retellings but I can’t get enough of them and I’d love for A.G. Howard to write one.
What’s the best book title you’ve ever heard of?
Vampirates by Justin Somper is a pretty awesome name. I haven’t read this series but it sounds like it’d be quite a fun read.
Who is your OTP or bookish BFF?
Magnus and Alec forever though Mia and Ashlinn are a very close second.
If you could control one element (earth, air, fire or water), which would you choose?
I would have to go with Earth as I love nature and feel that this power would bring me even closer to it.
Who is your favourite fictional animal? (i.e., not just dragons, but Kozu from The Last Namsara)
Does Mister Kindly count even though he’s technically not a real cat?
What is your favourite way to treat yourself?
My favourite way to treat myself is to spend a whole day lying in bed reading which doesn’t happen very often as I’m always busy.
The Orangutan Librarian’s Questions
Where’s the best place you’ve ever been on holiday?
Hands down this has to be Disney World Florida, it really is the most magical place on Earth.
Do you have any favourite fictional (or non fictional) libraries?
The athenaeum from The Nevernight Chronicles. It just sounds so amazing, though I might need to bring a body guard with me to fight off the bookworms.
What’s your guiltiest pleasure read?
My guiltiest pleasure read is probably Twilight though I haven’t read it in years, so not sure how much it counts.
What’s your most unpopular bookish opinion?
I think quite a big one is that I love Chaol and hate Rowan from The Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas.
Do you have a bookish pet peeves?
I have many. Two of my main ones are series with covers that don’t match and people putting stickers on books.
What book character gets on your last nerve?
Rowan Whitethorn from The Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas.
If you could wear any item of clothing from a book- what would it be? (magical or not)
Without a doubt it would be the cloak of invisibility from Harry Potter.
Who would you rather kiss/marry/kill when the choices are Lord Voldemort, Sauron and Iago? (meanest question ever, I know 😉)
This is such a mean question. I had to put these three names in a hat and pick randomly for this one and I got kiss Sauron, marry Lord Voldemort and kill Iago.
Who’s the best bookish baddie you’ve read about lately?
I’ve read a lot of awesome morally grey characters recently such as Rin from The Poppy War and Mia from the Nevernight Chronicles but I’ve not read any straight up villains that I’ve loved recently. Though movie wise I love Annabelle for the Conjuring universe.
Would you rather be the villain in a story or the hero? Why?
I think I’d like to give being a villain a go as they get all the fun.
Do you have any exciting upcoming reading plans?
I plan on starting The Beautiful by Renee Ahdieh which I’m really excited to read.
I’m going to be really lazy today because I don’t have the energy to come up with my own questions so you can pick 12 of the above questions that you would like to answer.
