Hi everyone, I hope you’re all having an amazing day. I was tagged by Emma from A Dreamer’s Library she is awesome and not only does she post about books but she also talks a lot about Disney on her blog so if you are a Disney fan you should definitely check her out.
Received an ARC and not reviewed it
Yes. I requested The Poopy War by R.F. Kuang and was accepted for it however, due to the problems I had with internet access a few months ago I wasn’t able to download it before it was archived. Since then though I have bought the finished copy and plan on reviewing it soon. So, I feel that makes up for it slightly.
Have less than 60% feedback rating on Netgalley
No. At the moment I have a 72% feedback ratio and plan on getting to above 80% by the end of the month.
Rated a book on Goodreads and promised a full review was to come on your blog (and never did)
Yes. I have one book I have done this for but I do plan on rereading the book before the next in the series comes out so I plan reviewing it then (hopefully).
Folded down the page of a book aka dog eared a page.
Yes. I don’t do this anymore but when I was younger I use to dog ear my books all the time.
Accidentally spilled on a book
I haven’t split anything on a book before but I did drop one in the bath once so I don’t know if that counts. (Don’t worry the book is fine, though a little creased).
DNF a book this year
Yes. I have DNFed several books this year.
Bought a book purely because it was pretty with no intention of reading it
No. I have bought books due to them having pretty covers but I have always had the intention of reading them at some point.
Read whilst you were meant to be doing something else
Yes, all the time.
Skim read a book
I haven’t skim read a whole book, but if I have skim read passages if I didn’t find them very interesting or important to the story. I usually do this if I’m rereading the book.
Completely missed your Goodreads goal
No, though I have kinda cheated and reduced my goodreads goal if I didn’t think I was going to make it.
Borrowed a book and not returned it
Yes. In my defence I hadn’t realised that I hadn’t returned the book until years later. The book was The Railway Children by E. Nesbit and I borrowed it from my primary school library, my last year at the school, and it wasn’t until around five years later when I was moving house and I found it when I was unpacking my books. I remember when I pulled it out of the box and thinking to myself that I didn’t realise that I owned the book and it wasn’t until I opened the book and it said property of my primary school that I realised that I hadn’t returned it but by then it was too late to return it. I have felt guilty about this ever since.
Broke a book buying ban
Yes, all the time.
Started a review, left it for ages, then forgot what the book was about
Yes. My worse reviews are the ones where I have done this too, but I’m trying really hard to stop this and making myself write a review within a couple of days of finishing the book when everything is sill fresh in my mind.
Wrote in a book you were reading
Yes. I don’t write in the books but I do underline my favourite quotes.
Finished a book and not added it to your Goodreads
No. I always add the books that I read to my Goodreads as it helps my to keep trach of what I’m reading each year.
