Wrap Ups and Hauls

May Wrap Up

Hi everyone, I hope your all having an amazing day. I can’t believe that we’re already on the last day of May I feel like I’ve just blinked and suddenly almost half the years gone. I don’t think time is going to slow down anytime soon either as I’m moving house at the end of the June so need to start packing which I hate doing especially since all my precious babies books are going to be stuck in boxes for the foreseeable future but at least it gives me time to catch up on all the books sitting on my kindle.

Books

This month I managed to read 10 books and have no idea how that happened.

30166719

The Beauty and the Beast by Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot De Villeneuve. This was my first time reading the original fairy tale and I love it. I gave it 5 out of 5 stars. Review here.

39097140

The Hatch by Joe Fletcher. Unfortunately this was the biggest disappointment of the month as I didn’t understand the majority of these poems and only enjoyed a couple of them. I gave this 1.5 out of 5 stars. Review here.

31076583

A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas. While I did have a few problems with this book, mainly the way some of the characters were treated I loved being back in this world and being able to experience the Winter Solstice with these characters. I gave this 4 out of 5 stars. Review here.

35959740

Circe by Madeline Miller. This book was phenomenal, a complete masterpiece and one of my favourites of the year. I gave this  out of 5 stars. Review to come.

From Twinkle, With Love by Sandhya Menon. This was such a cute read and has such a swoony worthy romance. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. Review here.

36697146

Woman of Resistance: Poems for a New Feminism by various poets. These poems are so powerful and inspiring and I would highly recommend. I gave this 4 out of 5 stars. Review here.

I finished watching Skins this month and while I enjoyed it the first two series where definitely the best.

Riverdale-Season-2

I also finished the second series of Riverdale this month. I don’t feel it was as good as the first season but it was still enjoyable and I’m looking forward to the next season.

I can’t forget that Eurovision took place this month and the performances were just as strange as ever. This is definitely one of those shows that you can’t stop yourself from watching every year no matter how cringy it is.

Movies

Avengers-Infinity-War-poster

Saw Avenger’s Infinity War again this month and it gets better every time I see it. I have a post with all my thoughts about it here, however it does contain spoilers so don’t read if you have yet to see the movie.

Deadpool-2-What-We-Know.jpg

I also saw Deadpool this month and it was amazing, I thought the first one was good but this one was 10 times better. I love how funny this movie is and the way it makes fun of itself throughout. I also love how dark and gory this movie and how it was still able to make me cry at the end.

I’m loving Panic! At The Disco’s new songs especially High Hopes. I can’t wait for the album to be released.

  2. Loved loved loved High Hopes too!! I had it on repeat the other day at work. Interested to see what the rest of the album is like. And I just finished the second season of Riverdale, too! I agree it probably wasn’t as good as season 1, but I super enjoyed it still! Interested to see what you think of Sea Witch and Queens of Innis Lear. Wonderful wrap-up, Micahela!! 🙂
